About Amna
January 4, 2008
Hello There!
I am not the kind of photographer who will meet you, shake your hand and ask you to start posing. I always like to take time before a shoot to get to know my clients a little - I try to recognize different personalities - whether you are shy, outgoing, bold, confident, strong or mischievous..I want to capture you as you are!
I use an artistic, relaxed photojournalistic style. I do all of the ‘Formals’ while keeping a casual environment for honest expressions.
I am an on-location photographer and I try to use as much natural light as possible!
If the way I see things resonates with you then do give me a call and we can discuss your thoughts and ideas.
Amna
…………………..
F.A.Q.
I get a lot of frequently asked questions, so I thought I would put my answers here - Feel free to leave me a comment if I leave out anything.
Where are you based?
Ottawa, Canada
What areas do you cover?
Anywhere - I do a lot of Destination Photography. This year alone, I travelled to different cities in Canada, U.S. and Pakistan.
Who will be the photographer on the day?
I will be your Prime Photographer - I do like to have a second photographer with me. The second photographer is especially great to ensure that we cover all areas and get the formal and candid shots throughout your special day. Depending on the package you choose - you will get me as your photographer and possibly a second photographer.
Do you take family pictures?
Yes. Group and family pictures are requested all the time.
Canon or Nikon?
Canon
Did you go to school for Photography?
I went to McMaster University and Majored in Economics. I then did a Post-Grad in Landscape Design/Horticulture. Today, I work Full-time in Accounting, work Part-time as a Photographer and Seasonally as a Landscape Designer!! I couldn’t be happier! Somehow I have managed to keep up with everything - I have the most perfect jobs and I love every minute of my life!
I have taken various Photography courses and workshops. I have also had the opportunity to learn from some phenomenal photographers, such as David Barbour, Ray Pilon, Michael Basham and Heather.
How long have you been shooting Professionally?
3 Years +
Do you have a Studio?
No, I’m an On-site Photographer. I always like to incorporate the mood from different locations in to the picutres and by being an On-site Photographer…I am able to capture images in very versitile settings.

Aida Mansour: hi Amina, congratulations on choosing what you do and enjoying it.I admire people who are multi talented, and you are certainly one! This might come as a surprise to you but I too love photography it captures the essence of the moment which often escapes us unnoticed in our normal life,it is like meditation and for me it is a reminder of how blessed we are and of how beautiful life is when we look through different corners.i also did afew projects in landscape design,it is my passion, but i didn't do it for money, this year i intend to enroll in an on line program to study it. I am currently doing a research on Arab countries and am trying to find images of life in Arabia which captures the traditional side, the culture and people...different religions, worship places..etc. I intend to put all of this in cafe Arabia, which am planning it as i write to you. I will be honoured to represent Morroco through your lens on the walls of this cafe...and I feel strongly about your touch, perhaps later when we start operation, clients would ask us for photo shoots and we can discuss this later and create a new business opportunity for both of us on a new level. If you agree to donate photos to be placed in our cafe to represent Morroco or any other Arab country pls contact me and I promise you you will never regret it.I wish you all the best always, Thank you Aida Mansour
