Come and enjoy the 2nd Annual South Asian Festival tomorrow at Confederation Park. There’s going to be South Asian music, dance, delicious food, henna artists, laughter yoga, traditional jewellery, silks, activities for kids, an extensive health section, and so much more!!

This Admission-Free festival is a full day event (11 AM to 8 PM) for the entire family. We are working hard to prepare for all weather conditions so rain or shine, please bring your lawn chairs and spend the day in Confederation Park!

I’m back from Awaken and boy was it a weekend full of AWESOMENSS!!! I will be blogging about the workshop in a few days - Right Now I’m leaving you all with a preview from the PSA and CISA Dinner ‘MEHFIL’ -  DJ 2 Deep & The Bilz and Kashif rocked the house!

I think everyone has been trying to contribute in one way or another to try to help those in need in Haiti.  I was lucky enough to be part of such a wonderful event with such a humanitarian cause.  Deep Shah and Jatinder Chadha of Desi Ottawa put together this wonderful evening in a matter of weeks - but they left no details out.  With the support from the South-Asian community, they were able to raise funds which went directly to the Red Cross to help those in need in Haiti.

The evening was perfectly planned out. Everything was right on time.  There was entertainment, the food was great and the evening was honoured by distinguished guests, such as Mayoral Candidate and for-mer MPP Mr. Jim Watson, Ottawa’s New Fire Chief Mr. John DeHooge, Multicultural Communication Director of the Liberal Party of Canada Mr. John Delacourt, and Chief of Psychiatry and representing the Haitian Community Dr. Claude Manigat.

Now a little peak from a Wedding I shot a little while back! I just love this shot!

Hi Guys! Last summer I got a chance to photograph a video shoot of an amazing group.  Yes you guessed it…JOSH!!! I’ve been a such a huge fan of Josh from god knows when…And the fact that they’re Canadian only makes me feel more proud and connected!..I remember hearing their song ‘mein hoon tanha’ and wondering what these guys must be like! I’ve attended several concerts of theirs and but I never thought a day would come when I would be actually photographing them!  So you can imagine how ecstatic I was when I found out that I would get to be there during the recording of their music video.  The whole experience I must say was amazing - everyone on the set was totally down to earth and awesome! I also got to meet Karam Singh of Republic Films (he was the director) and Gurminder Banga of Banga Photography, along with a lot of other fabulous folks.  Special shout out to Manisha Ramji and Mrinal Chag…you guys were awesome as the female leads! and of course Sonam Dudeja and Ayesha Butt of Glow Studios!

I’ve been dying for the day to come when the video was released so I could share my coverage with you guys too…and lo and behold..the day has come!!!! So enjoy some of my pictures that I got during their shoot, there’s also a few pictures towards the end giving you an idea of what it was like behind the scenes and finally the music video itself for ‘Teri Aankhon’! It’s amazing!!!

Thanks again Rup and Q for this awesome opportunity! You two are such talented singers and just great guys!
