accentHi Guys! Last summer I got a chance to photograph a video shoot of an amazing group.  Yes you guessed it…JOSH!!! I’ve been a such a huge fan of Josh from god knows when…And the fact that they’re Canadian only makes me feel more proud and connected!..I remember hearing their song ‘mein hoon tanha’ and wondering what these guys must be like! I’ve attended several concerts of theirs and but I never thought a day would come when I would be actually photographing them!  So you can imagine how ecstatic I was when I found out that I would get to be there during the recording of their music video.  The whole experience I must say was amazing - everyone on the set was totally down to earth and awesome! I also got to meet Karam Singh of Republic Films (he was the director) and Gurminder Banga of Banga Photography, along with a lot of other fabulous folks.  Special shout out to Manisha Ramji and Mrinal Chag…you guys were awesome as the female leads! and of course Sonam Dudeja Fuxions By Sonam!

I’ve been dying for the day to come when the video was released so I could share my coverage with you guys too…and lo and behold..the day has come!!!! So enjoy some of my pictures that I got during their shoot, there’s also a few pictures towards the end giving you an idea of what it was like behind the scenes and finally the music video itself for ‘Teri Aankhon’! It’s amazing!!!

Thanks again Rup and Q for this awesome opportunity! You two are such talented singers and just great guys!

Enjoy everyone!! and I’ll be back with more blog love soon!

Hi guys!! YESS I’M ALIVE!!! I know I’ve totally been MIA for the longest time - but it’s been a really intense period - so much to do that I didn’t have any blogging time left - but fear not ! now that I’m back…I’m going to bring you all up-to-date with all that you missed!

We start off with where we left off (literally) - Suhaan’s 1st birthday. I had to really narrow down the pictures and even then I will have to post in 3 parts. The first 2 posts will be about the party itself and the last will be their family portraits.

Here we go!

Last week I had the honour of photographing the opening of Naela Chohan’s art exhibition here in Ottawa called ‘Art from the Heart.’  For those of you who don’t know Naela Chohan, she is the Deputy High Commissioner for Pakistan, here in Ottawa.  The art exhibit was held to raise awareness of issues and challenges affecting 21st century women.  It was launched at  Rothwell Gallery to a full house with dignitaries from the Canadian government, Canadian-Pakistani’s and several Ambassadors and diplomat officials here in Ottawa.  ’Art from the Heart’ was inaugurated by Laureen Harper, wife of the Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper.

This event was held to raise awareness and funds for the displaced women of Swat in Pakistan.  As you all know, last month I was also fundraising for the displaced people of Swat with my ‘Portraits for Charity‘ and all the money that I raised was distributed to displaced Widows of Swat so that they could set up means to earn a living.  The theme of this exhibition was Pakistani women in Canada supporting the displaced women of Swat - these recurring characteristics played a dominant role in bringing Naela Chohan, Rehana Mufti and myself together for this event.  Naela Chohan, as the artist; Rehana Mufti, as the Gallery Owner; and myself as the Photographer - all unified by our roots and our desire to support a common cause.
