Mystic 5 | c’est moi!

2010 started off with such a bang for me(in a good way)! Mystic 5 followed by my first Florida Wedding (which I’ll be blogging about soon)!

Mystic 5 (an annual photographers convention of sorts, held in Mystic, CT) is Walter Van Dusen’s Project to bring together so many amazing photographers and give us a chance to learn from each other.  I finally got the chance to meet so many of my favourite photographers who I have been following and learning from so in a way it was totally like getting a chance to go crazy at candyland..except this was all photography related.  There were about 300 of us who attended and the line-up of speakers was just phenomenal. Each speaker shared such a plethora of information that it almost seems surreal that I was actually there. David and Quin shared amazing tips on going paperless and their guerilla lighting techniques, Mike and Cody of Tricoast shared their wealth of Lighting techniques, Storey totally moved everyone with her presentation, I don’t think there was a single dry eye there.  Andy MarcusDavid WilliamsJoe McNallyMichelle TurnerStacey DoyleJason GrouppJerome and Jennifer Braga all had so much to share! One of the highlights had to be my experience with Jerry Ghionis! The guy is a legend when it comes to photographers.  His 3 hour presentation ended up running to 5 and half hours and not a single person wanted it to end.

Walter, thank you so much for organizing this fabulous event! I’m already looking forward to Mystic 6!

I can’t wait till the day when I get to photograph a wedding at this church. It happens to be Ottawa’s oldest church and is known as the Notre-Dame Basilica. I happened to walk by it the other day and knew I had to stop and get some pictures (for the 959th time or so).
