Big News | Personal

August 8, 2009

accentHi everyone - I know I’ve totally been missing in action lately…all this MIA-ness is only on my blog. I’ve been going nuts trying to keep up with all the weddings and events lately. I’ve shot quite a few weddings, events, portraits in the last few weeks so you can all expect some major sneak peaks, and mega blog posts here very soon.

But the reason I’m sitting here writing to you all is because I want to share some humongo news with everyone. I’ve talked to a few of you in the last few weeks about how I’ve been thinking of pursuing my dreams of becoming a Full-time photographer…and now after weighing all the pros and cons…I’ve finally made the decision to go FULL-TIME with my photography and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. All the support I’ve been getting from my friends and family and all of you is just overwhelming…thank you so much for being such a huge part in such an important milestone in my life. I have a million ideas in my mind and hopefully now that I’ll have more time I can get started on some of them at least!

So now I leave you with a sneak peek of a Wedding I shot a little while back. I was lucky enough to spend 3 days with this gorgeous bride at all her wedding events in Toronto. So have a look….doesn’t she just take your breath away! wait till you see the other pictures from her wedding!

Canada Day Fireworks is something my whole family looks forward to. It’s our tradition to grab some snacks and go enjoy the fireworks each year. Normally I will go out with my sisters and we spend the day in downtown Ottawa which is totally blocked off for all traffic and full of craziness! Buskers, performers, people selling all sorts of Canadian memorabilia and of course the awesome performances on the main stage on Parliament Hill. This year Sarah McLachlan was performing..but sigh we couldn’t go and spend the day in town but we did manage to go and enjoy the fireworks.

Here are some shots I got.

accentI did Samira and Nayal’s portraits at University of Toronto. We had been talking about doing the portraits for a while so it was great that we finally managed to get together.   I’ve known Samira for so many years now. Every month our families would get together and visit a new place.   We would spend the whole weekend at some guest house in some new area and stay up all night talking and joking and just having the time of our lives!

Samira now has a super cute son - he is such a cutie pie…all smiles (ma) all the time.  The weather was lovely and I got some great shots of Nayal and his beautiful mama!

The Long Wave | Personal

June 30, 2009

accentLuminato - The festival or Arts & Creativity took place in Toronto from June 5-14, 2009.

I happened to stumble on David Rokeby’s Long Wave - This installation consisted of 64 red spheres, hanging from the ceiling inside the Allen Lambert Galleria in Brookfield Place. Rokeby’s long wave is a representative of a modified sine wave, the basic structure of modern wireless communication.

Very cool huh!!! You never know what you may stumble upon in Toronto!

Oh and please note that these pictures were taken with my iphone and NOT my fancy shmancy slr.
