A few months ago, I was sitting and having lunch with my good friend Bridget Redmond of First Kiss Films and I mentioned to her how I’ve been thinking about doing this concept shoot, just for fun. The more I talked about it the more excited Bridget got and I could tell she was thinking what I was thinking! I think I needed that final push to actually get this project going…so together Bridget and I started planning our ‘Afternoon Tea’ shoot. I happened to know a fabulous Make-up artist (Facades by Farhat) and Hair Stylist (Shaista) and Bridget knew the most wonderful Florist (Michelle VandenBosch). I knew of the yummiest Cup Cakery (The Flour Shoppe) and Bridget knew where to get the perfect accessories and props for the shoot (Thanks Mrs. Farr). and slowly everything started coming together - We managed to get an incredible Fashion Designer who is based in Pakistan (Sobia Saleem Couture) on board along with the best Models we could’ve asked for!
The final day arrived and everything had come together wonderfully - Our makeup artist and Hair stylist arrived from Montreal. The clothes arrived from Pakistan. The florist, the cupcakes, the delicate props were all here….and we find out it’s going to be raining on the day of our shoot! But as they say, Everything happens for the best….we made a quick decision to move the shoot indoors and still managed to spend a decent amount of time outdoors (when it would stop raining).
The result was something I could have never imagined or executed on my own. I was in total awe when our ’set’ was all ready. I didn’t know where to start taking pictures and where to stop…So many details (you know how much I love details), the intricate embroidery on the clothes, the most gorgeous (and the most amazing) models I could’ve asked for…on whom Farhat did SUCH a fabulous job, the most exotic looking flowers, the many colours, patterns and textures….all I have to say is it’s been a few months since our shoot and I still feel like it all happened yesterday.
Bridget of First Kiss Films released a film teaser for our shoot last week, to which we have received a tremendous response…worldwide in fact! It’s already been featured on some of the most fabulous blogs around! In case you missed it, you can head over HERE to view it.
So before I let you guys move on to the images from the shoot and get totally absorbed in the ambiance of what we call a Highly Decadent Afternoon Tea - I would like to thank all those who were involved in this project. For your time, your effort, your passion and your dedication! This wouldn’t have been possible without each one of you.
Thank you Bridget, Farhat, Michelle, Melissa, Sobia, Shaista, Joelle, Joy, Maya, Aman, Martin, Christina, Mrs. Farr, Bilal, Rabia and Ayesha. I can’t wait to work together on our next project!

Hi guys!! Ramdan has started so it’s that time of the year where families come together, and just enjoy this blessed month of fasting! I love it!! So Ramadan Mubarak to all those fasting this month! May all your prayers be answered. ameen

Also, on a side note - I’ve been featured on two of my favourite blogs once again!
Sarah and Sanjoy’s Bengali-Hindu wedding took place at such a unique location - For the Ceremony, the Mandap was set up in front of the Ottawa River with a view of the Ottawa Skyline at the back, where you could see the Parliament Building and the magnificent Chateau Laurier! The ceremony was followed by a beautiful reception in the Great Hall of the Museum of Civilization. A Sneak Peek of their wedding has been featured on Red, White, and Diamonds. Angee sure has a way with words! she makes everything sound soooo exquisite! Thank you Angee, for your continuous support!

Bela and Khurrum’s extravagant wedding that took place in two cities both equally beautiful and as unique as can be! Their Mehendi and Wedding Reception was at the Signature Grand in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We enjoyed the gorgeous beaches there along with the Palm Trees! And Signature Grand itself is a magnificent venue! The Valima Reception took place at the Elegant Villa Borghese in upstate New York!
Asiya too has given me so much support! I love being featured on her blog Aaina!

and last but not least, here’s a sneak peek to one my bridal shoots I did earlier this summer. I love LOVE! Can’t wait to share more!

I’ve been playing with off camera flash a lot lately and it really helps a lot when you have sisters who will model for you and put up with your craziness! So on one of those crazy nights, I did Ayesha’s makeup and hair and then we started shooting - I was quite happy with the results. Those of you who have been to my place will recognize my fancy studio space aka my bathroom. lol
For the photographers out there, I set up a speedlight on a lightstand with pocket wizards and was shooting through an umbrella. I shot most of these at f11 and 100 ISO and used my 100mm 2.8L macro lens. Enjoy!!
