accentI shot Ashley and Stephen’s wedding a little while back at the Chateau Laurier! Their wedding was just stunning..lots of details, lots of love! Their ceremony was followed by a beautiful reception party! I especially loved the brides maid dresses! Love any jewel tones when it comes to brides maid dresses - Thanks again Ashley and Stephen for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful day!

Enjoy their wedding! I’ll be revealing the other 2 parts in the next few days!

accentHi guys! as the busy wedding season approaches…my excitement to share my weddings with you all increases also! Today I’m going to be sharing Bela and Khurrum’s fabulous wedding extravaganza’s last event - The Valima Reception. This event in a traditional Pakistani wedding, is a reception from the groom’s side of the family. Since Khurrum is from New York - the reception was in New York. I fell in love with this venue the second I saw it and really hoped we would be able to go outside for a few pictures..but we were in the middle of a snow storm…so we all opted to stay indoors for all the portraits.

Enjoy all the little details from this beautiful reception - I think there isn’t a single colour out there that Bela can’t rock! seriously…she just makes everything look phenomenal! So enjoy the pictures and like always..I look forward to getting feedback from all you wonderful readers.

Toodles!

accentHere’s part 2 from Bela and Khurrum’s wedding extravaganza! There’s still one more event after this..so stay tuned!

As much as I love the portraits and getting ready shots..I also love all the ceremonial stuff too at weddings, like the ring exchange, the entrances, the cake cutting and especially the ‘Joota Chupai’ (translated means, Hiding of the shoes). So it’s tradition that the sisters and friends of the bride hide the grooms shoe and demand money in exchange…the girls don’t give back the shoe until the groom pays up! There are a lot of laughs and jokes and of course a lot of money ;)

The evening always ends on a teary note though, as the bride leaves her family to join her husband’s family…you may have noticed how the farewell’s are full of tears…yes everyone is overjoyed because of all the festivities and the coming together of the two families..but at the same time, it’s a hard time for the bride to ‘leave’ her parents and become a part of the new family.

accentYou’ve had a chance to look at Bela and Khurrum’s E-shoot and Mehendi pictures! Now you get to see the first part of their wedding pictures…well wedding day that is! Bela was glowing in her bridal dress and so was Khurrum. Khurrum wore a traditional navy blue Sherwani on this day - The wedding was at the very gorgeous Signature Grand in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The decor was all done by Jilna of Suhaag Garden once again - she did an amazing job - and paid so much attention to all the little details!

accentOmg! so yesterday I went to another amazing event put together by the wonderful ladies of The Fuchsia Factory (Tina Yelle) and Starfish Events + Weddings (Samantha Moonsamy) - I was actually going to be only photographing this awesome event but I ended up participating in the speed networking event too - it was my second time doing this so the experience was awesome! I loved it and I don’t know what it is, but Tina and Samantha tend to attract the most awesomest and nicest people ever! So overall the event was a huge success and I had a lot of fun, as well I made a lot of new friends and connections. If you would like to see pictures from the event, click here.

I’ve been giving you guys a peek at my experience in Florida - all the fun stuff I got to do…well you’ve seen nothing yet! wait till you see the rest of the pictures…from the actual wedding..you’ll just die! Seriously..the wedding was super grand, super gorgeous and super tasteful! everything screamed perfection and was just wonderful!  So a big props to all the parties involved in making the wedding events a big success!

Today I’ll be sharing pictures from Bela and Khurrum’s Mehendi/ Henna Ceremony. This is basically the party where everyone gets to put henna on the bride’s hands and feed her sweets and bless her. The whole theme for the decor was Moroccan which Jilna of Suhaag Garden designed. Jilna’s work is just exquisite! She was the brains behind the decoration for the Mehendi and the Wedding itself. So without further adieu…I’ll leave you to the pictures!

I look forward to getting your feedback! Trust me, you’ll fall in love Bela and Khurrum and their families after you’re done with the pictures :)

Until  next time!

Amna
