Mandace & Terry | Engagement

November 10, 2009

We decided to do Mandace and Terry’s engagement shoot at Strathcona Park in Ottawa.  This park has to be one of my favourites in the city - I love how it’s sandwiched between the Rideau river and a row of gorgeous houses/embassies and it has the most stunning trees!!!

Mandace and Terry have the two most adorable kids I’ve ever met! Isaac and Maliya both have such beautiful eyes and the most infectious smiles ever which they totally get from their parents! First we did pictures of them interacting as a family and then we took some time to take pictures of Mandace and Terry alone.

The shoot was a lot of fun with lots of laughs -  Mandace and Terry I cant wait to photograph your wedding in December. I know it’s going to be a lot of fun!

accentI had the pleasure of photographing Kiran and Salman’s Wedding - Salman and I go way back…actually he was in my brother’s grade in grade school so it was a very nostalgic and emotional wedding…like my younger brother getting married.  I was so touched and honoured when Salman asked me to capture his wedding for him. Kiran and Salman are both sweethearts - totally down to earth and just very humble folks. Over the wedding events I totally felt like I was a part of their family and I would like to thank Salman, Kiran and their families for being such wonderful people.

Today I’m going to be sharing pictures from their Mehendi with you. It was such an intimate and beautiful event. I love the mehendis the most because there’s so much going on - all the hungama, the masti, the dholki, the sing-songs, the rasams and of course all the dancing! So let’s get started.

Today was my first day as a Full-Time Photographer ONLY! I’ve been trying to get to this point for a few months now but transitioning out of my other Job became a bit harder than I thought. But alls well - it was a really hard decision for me to leave my 9-5 job just because I enjoyed it so much.  So after a lot of tears, goodbyes and keep-in-touch’s I’m sitting here at my desk in my ‘home office’ and I figured I would first give you guys a sneak peek from a wedding I did this summer - this is from the mehendi.  I’ll be posting pictures from their wedding events in the coming days but for now I leave you with this shot I got of gorgeous Kiran! Enjoy folks :)
